Nic Brown Whirling Hall Of Knives are, for the most part, a cacophonous mash-up of bass-heavy, lo-fi industrial techno with the odd blizzard of power electronics thrown in for good measure, but listen carefully (if you dare) and there's a meticulousness, not to mention an irreverence, in their approach to sound design that's sadly lacking amongst many producers working in the same field. Put simply, WHOK are never, ever boring and this, their seventh album will be ripping my eardrums to shreds for some considerable time to come. A din for the discerning. Favorite track: Klop / Muzzed.
